Siftr — Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 12, 2026

Siftr is a Chrome extension that turns Gmail inbox triage into a card game. This policy explains exactly what data Siftr accesses, what it stores, and what it transmits. The short version: your emails never leave your device.

What Siftr reads

To build the card deck, Siftr reads the Gmail inbox rows already visible in your browser tab: sender name, subject line, preview snippet, date, read/unread state, and Gmail's internal thread ID. This happens entirely inside your browser. Siftr does not use the Gmail API, does not request access to your Google account, and cannot read email bodies beyond the preview snippet Gmail itself displays.

What Siftr stores — locally only

All of this is kept in Chrome's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device. It is not synced, uploaded, or shared. Uninstalling the extension deletes it.

What Siftr transmits

Exactly one piece of data ever leaves your device: your license key, sent to Polar.sh (api.polar.sh) when you activate Pro and periodically afterwards (at most once per week) to confirm the license is still valid. No email content, no metadata, no usage statistics are included in these requests. Polar.sh processes payments and licensing under its own privacy policy.

What Siftr does not do

Deleting emails

When you swipe an email to trash, Siftr clicks Gmail's own delete button in the page. Deletion is performed by Gmail itself, follows Gmail's normal behavior (items go to Trash and can be restored), and can be undone with Gmail's "Undo" — which Siftr also exposes as a button.

Limited Use disclosure

Siftr's use of information received from Google services adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Gmail data is used solely to provide the user-facing triage feature, in your browser, and for no other purpose.

Siftr — Gizlilik Politikası

Yürürlük tarihi: 12 Haziran 2026

Siftr, Gmail gelen kutusu temizliğini kart oyununa çeviren bir Chrome eklentisidir. Kısa özet: e-postalarınız cihazınızdan asla çıkmaz.

Siftr ne okur?

Kart destesini oluşturmak için Siftr, tarayıcı sekmenizde zaten görünür olan Gmail satırlarını okur: gönderen adı, konu, önizleme metni, tarih, okundu/okunmadı durumu ve Gmail'in iç ileti dizisi kimliği. Bu işlem tamamen tarayıcınızın içinde gerçekleşir. Siftr, Gmail API kullanmaz, Google hesabınıza erişim istemez ve Gmail'in gösterdiği önizleme dışında e-posta içeriği okuyamaz.

Siftr neyi saklar? — yalnızca cihazınızda

Bunların tümü Chrome'un yerel eklenti deposunda (chrome.storage.local) tutulur; hiçbir yere yüklenmez veya paylaşılmaz. Eklentiyi kaldırmak bu verileri siler.

Siftr neyi iletir?

Bir e-postayı çöpe kaydırdığınızda Siftr, sayfadaki Gmail'in kendi sil düğmesine basar. Silme Gmail tarafından yapılır, Gmail'in normal davranışını izler (öğeler Çöp Kutusu'na gider, geri yüklenebilir) ve Gmail'in "Geri al" özelliğiyle geri alınabilir.
